Paint Protection Film (PPF) Limited Warranty
1. Introduction
King Automotive Films (Pty) Ltd (“King Automotive Films”) supplies high-quality Paint Protection Films (PPF) designed to protect vehicle surfaces from environmental and road-related damage.
This warranty outlines the general coverage, limitations, and conditions applicable to King Automotive Films products. This document serves as general warranty guidance for approved installers and customers and does not constitute a legally binding contract.
2. Warranty Coverage
King Automotive Films warrants that its Paint Protection Films will be free from manufacturing defects under normal use and service conditions for the applicable warranty period, commencing from the date of installation.
Subject to the conditions outlined herein, this warranty covers material-related defects including excess yellowing or discolouration, cracking, bubbling, delamination, loss of gloss, excessive hazing, and adhesive failure caused by manufacturing faults.
Warranty coverage applies strictly to the film material itself and does not extend to vehicle paint, substrate condition, or installation labour unless otherwise stated.
3. Warranty Period
The applicable warranty period varies depending on the specific product range supplied by King Automotive Films and will be communicated to installers at the time of purchase.
Unless otherwise specified, all warranty periods are calculated from the original installation date.
4. Conditions of Warranty Validity
This warranty remains valid only when the Paint Protection Film is installed by a professional or approved installer, with minimal or no exposed edges, and in full accordance with King Automotive Films’ recommended installation guidelines.
The vehicle surface must be in suitable condition at the time of installation, and proper aftercare and maintenance procedures must be followed. A valid warranty card is required for warranty assessment, and the original installer must be the first point of contact for any warranty-related concerns.
5. Warranty Exclusions
This warranty does not cover damage or failure resulting from improper installation, handling, or storage, normal wear and tear, stone chips, collisions, vandalism, or accidents.
Exclusions further include damage caused by improper washing methods, harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaning tools, pressure washing too close to film edges, exposure to extreme conditions beyond normal automotive use, pre-existing paint defects, resprayed panels, poor paint adhesion, or the removal and reinstallation of the film.
Cosmetic changes that do not affect the protective performance of the film are not considered defects.
6. Installer Responsibility
Installers are responsible for ensuring correct installation techniques, educating customers on proper care and maintenance, inspecting the vehicle’s paint condition prior to installation, and addressing installation-related issues independently of material warranty claims.
Installation workmanship is not covered under this warranty.
7. Warranty Claim Process
In the event of a suspected material defect, the installer must contact King Automotive Films through the original installer or authorised distributor and provide clear photographs along with all relevant details. King Automotive Films reserves the right to inspect the product.
If a valid claim is approved, King Automotive Films may, at its discretion, replace the defective film material or provide an equivalent product. No cash refunds are offered under this warranty.
8. Limitation of Liability
King Automotive Films (Pty) Ltd shall not be liable for labour costs, removal or reinstallation costs, loss of use, inconvenience, indirect damages, or damage to vehicle paint or surfaces.
Warranty remedies are strictly limited to the replacement of defective film material.
9. Transferability
This warranty is non-transferable unless otherwise stated and applies solely to the original purchaser or the vehicle on which the film was installed.
10. Care & Maintenance
To maintain warranty coverage, vehicles should be washed using pH-neutral automotive shampoos, abrasive cleaners and polishing compounds should be avoided, recommended curing times followed, and film edges or seams not disturbed.
Failure to adhere to basic care and maintenance guidelines may result in warranty coverage being voided.
11. Amendments
King Automotive Films (Pty) Ltd reserves the right to update or amend these warranty terms at any time without prior notice. The most current version in effect at the time of claim submission shall apply.
12. Governing Region
This warranty applies to products sold and installed within South Africa and bordering countries unless otherwise specified.
